Ways the Broncos together with their 'play-dough' QB can end the Chiefs' dominance.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features live text for the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available through designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the football calendar and after recent discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable in those games was the amount of infractions both committed. The Eagles committed them in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves having led 17-3 entering the final quarter versus Denver, set to play in London this weekend.

But it was positive to observe that Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to overcome the shortfall and then direct three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, securing the victory 21-17.

Denver have the defensive player of the year in cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are first in goal-line defense, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos prevailed in that battle.

They executed effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily rushing more than four defenders but they could position two LBs in the interior then drop them out and send a nickel off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, we said during a show that Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They finished last season well and excelled of building upon that.

Could Denver be this season's dark horses?

New tight end Evan Engram has stepped up big and recent running back JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He now ranks fifth in the NFL in ground gains (402) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

I love that head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.

This demonstrates that the Broncos are a squad that wants to run first, since one can do a lot based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush while maintains in favourable down and distances.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who entered into the league as a first-round selection last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to throw all over, but they don't move in the same way that Nix has. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he is highly agile.

His assets include his mobility, being able to throw while moving, and finding different arm angles to make throws when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays a lot of composure under pressure and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He tries to avoid a sack as much as possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and is very decisive.

If you constantly run the ball it consumes the clock and makes the opponent to be in play extended periods, and if you've got a mobile QB the defense must defend the area downfield and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

Nix has pushed back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is kind of like play-dough. He can truly develop him how he desires to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

The head coach owns a championship and has surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the success the Broncos are experiencing offensively is mostly down to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix helps make him what he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to help you during some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.

I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to face an elite team at its best? Since that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're performing above average, that's a solid position to be in their division. The key is to continue this trajectory.

They excel at leaning into their strength, which is the ground game, and that's exactly what they should do versus the Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they are the sole squad without a win any game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are the first team to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is kind of shocking considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

After this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders before the Chiefs.

In the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the division.

It depends on what version of the Chiefs they meet because Denver {beat|def
