Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in an LA Traffic Collision

The visionary game developer, the mind behind the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in the state of California aged 55.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio that he helped create.

The renowned video game developer died after his automobile collided and was engulfed in flames on a highway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.

"This is a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with Vince's family, his loved ones, and everyone impacted by his legacy," an official with Electronic Arts said.
