The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with using the full worth of frozen Russian funds to bolster the Ukrainian defense operations, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the heads of state of the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this joint measure would escalate tension on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to participate in talks.

They further noted that the decision would be carried out in tight collaboration with the America.

British penalties have immobilized more than £25bn of Russian funds since Moscow began its widespread offensive against Ukraine in 2022. However, previously, resources sent to Ukraine using Russia's holdings had exclusively been sourced from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to drive progress toward employing the full value of the seized Russian sovereign assets to conclude the conflict.

He noted that more measures over the next period would apply more pressure on Moscow.

This statement is subsequent to EU leaders convened in Copenhagen last week to discuss using immobilized Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro loan to Ukraine.

In the previous month, President Donald Trump urged G7 allies to confiscate or employ immobilized Russian holdings, as reported by reports.

The total of frozen Russian funds in the EU is assessed to be almost €211bn.

The Russian government carried out extensive missile and drone strikes throughout the Ukrainian territory on that day, causing electricity outages in significant regions of Kyiv, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.

Two people were fatally injured and a minimum of 20 people were injured in the assault, Ukrainian officials said.

In a post on an online platform subsequent to the incident, Zelensky commented that the strategic strike aimed at public and utility structures.

"What's needed is not mere statements but firm measures - from the US, EU, and the Group of Seven - in supplying defense mechanisms and implementing sanctions," he stated.

"Every sanction decision undermines Russia's war machine," Zelensky wrote, in a separate post.

Additionally that day, Zelensky informed reporters he would urge Sir Keir to join the weapons procurement scheme, under which alliance members purchase military equipment from the America to give to Ukraine.

While commending the UK's firm backing for Kyiv, he noted it should send a clear signal that it would take part in the initiative, as well as apply more measures on Russia.
