The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of heroes who will split off from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem mismatched, but the actions of the third episode show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, striking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and warns that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as important members in the influential clan could help the group access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Explorers and Planners tables.
Audiences can look forward to learning which characters will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on October 24.
