Followers Demand Arrest of Man Who Grabbed Ariana Grande

Devoted supporters of the actress are calling for that a individual who breached a fence and seized the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or removed from Singapore.

A viral footage depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past camera operators and charging at Grande while the performers proceeded down a event pathway surrounded by fans.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the surprised performer away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being taken in", though legal records showed that he was due to be present on the following morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.

Pattern of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a performance. His Instagram account features clips of him disturbing other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney show in June this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last year.

"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is obviously a criminal offence," stated an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his actions.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user questioned.

Fans Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Safety

Many followers blamed Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with PTSD after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding many.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented another response on Instagram.

Several attendees also criticised event staff at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while others requested digital services to ban Mr Wen's uploads.

Aftermath and Event Details

In clips shared widely, Grande appeared surprised when she was approached by the intruder. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by security.

Grande has not commented on the situation, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.

Numerous of attendees had congregated in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it began.

The film, to be launched on 21 November, is the second of a two-part version of the well-known stage show Wicked, which revolves around the surprising relationship between two contrasting characters.

The production itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was adorned in a champagne pink sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who acts as the Elphaba, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were joined by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the most successful motion picture of the previous year in the UK, and received 10 Academy Award nods, securing several for excellent wardrobe and artistic direction.
