Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving

In a surprising collaboration that defies usual predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Uncovered

According to the authorized release, "A mysterious encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of banned practices and fearsome changes resonate through the obscurity." The storyline introduces a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden group.

The mission centers on "peculiar experiments and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Changes

The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Additional Material

Players who finish the adventure will receive an exclusive katana together with numerous artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Exclusive weapons
• Survey Corps steed

Third Free Story Addition

This release also brings the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This represents hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with popular anime series. The series earlier included a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
